AI spend is tracked

AIR records usage for Maestro, website work, image generation, AI-R Host, and other AI features so owners can see what the restaurant is using.

The listed POS price is rarely the restaurant bill.

Owners compare what they actually pay: software, stations, hardware, KDS, online ordering, loyalty, delivery, implementation, and processing rules. These are the working assumptions behind the calculator below.

Vendor
Published / advertised
Better restaurant comp
What to watch
Toast
$0 starter / $69+ POS / custom
$165-$465+ is the safer restaurant-stack range depending on whether you are comparing POS-only or POS plus KDS, online ordering, loyalty, marketing, delivery, and extra devices.
The headline number is not the all-in restaurant bill. Hardware, implementation, processing, and add-ons drive the real cost.
Square
$0 / $49 / $149 per location
$149 Premium is the real comp for restaurants already using the serious tier; KDS can add $20-$30 per screen.
Excellent payments product, but restaurant operations, marketing, payroll, and KDS can become separate lines.
Clover
Restaurant Growth / bundle-driven pricing
$89.95 base software plus additional-device software and hardware/bundle terms. $110-$250+ is a better restaurant range than our old $90 placeholder.
Hardware subscription, processing, app-market add-ons, and non-cancelable terms matter more than the teaser number.
SpotOn
$0 quick start / $55 per station
$55-$255+ depending on stations, volume, and the Core bundle at $50 + 20 bps capped at $200.
The $0 plan pushes cost into processing. Proprietary hardware and add-on bundle choices change the comparison.
Lightspeed
$69 / $189 / $399
$189 Essential is the fair restaurant comp; $399 Premium for deeper or multi-location workflows.
Several restaurant workflows stay as add-ons. Starter is not always the plan an owner actually grows into.
TouchBistro
$69 POS / $119 essentials bundle
$119+ is a better working number once hardware and the practical starter bundle are considered.
Core POS starts low, but FOH, BOH, guest engagement, and add-ons become quote-driven.
Revel
$99 per terminal est.
$198+ minimum if two terminals are required, before hardware and onboarding.
Good enterprise-iPad POS history, but contract and acquisition uncertainty make it a less clean independent comparison.

Good tools solve one slice. AIR connects the restaurant.

We are more aggressive here because the economics matter. If AIR does the website, ordering, SEO, ranking reports, POS workflow, and data loop, restaurants should not keep paying five vendors to make those pieces barely talk to each other.

AI-R vs SpotOn

SpotOn advertised / estimated

$0 or $55/station mo.

SpotOn advertises Quick Start and POS Essentials; processing, proprietary hardware, and bundled software choices affect the final price.

Restaurant POS with station pricing, processing economics, implementation, and proprietary hardware requirements.

Strong POS implementation and restaurant support motion.

AIR is built for BYO iPad and faster iteration. We include direct ordering, SEO tracking, reservations, loyalty, and AI operations in the platform instead of treating restaurant growth as a separate vendor relationship.

SpotOn is a traditional POS replacement. AIR is better when the owner wants POS plus growth and automation.

Direct ordering is the foundation. Marketplace conversion is the Pro layer.

Every AIR plan gives the restaurant its own zero-commission ordering path, menu SEO, reorder links, loyalty, and POS connection. Pro adds the DD/UE/GH conversion system once those integrations are connected: marketplace attribution, bag-insert paths, channel reporting, and margin controls.

DD / UE / GH → direct

Once integrations are live, AIR can measure marketplace guests and help pull repeat orders back to the restaurant.

What AIR replaces now, and what stays connected.

Same pricing logic as the comparison chart above: replace what AIR can actually own today, keep the rest connected until it is ready.

Pricing FAQ

Quick pricing answers. The full buyer FAQ covers cutover, POS, printers, AI-R Host, delivery, SEO, loyalty, and roadmap details.

Is direct online ordering really included?

Yes. AIR includes direct ordering and does not charge a commission on your own orders. Customers can order from the AIR-hosted ordering page or from a website we enhance for you.

What does built-in SEO mean?

We structure menu items, categories, ordering paths, schema, and local restaurant data so Google can understand the site. Then we track rankings and report progress over time instead of just saying the site was optimized.

Do you mark up payment processing?

No. AIR passes through Square or Stripe at cost. Processing is separate from the AIR subscription, and we do not hide margin inside card rates.

Can I keep OpenTable, Resy, DoorDash, or Uber Eats?

Yes. AIR can work beside existing channels. The goal is not to shut everything off on day one; the goal is to make owned channels stronger and make third-party channels less expensive over time.

What if I only want AI-R Host?

Premium is the current path because live calls need the menu, reservations, loyalty, handoff rules, and order entry to work well. A standalone AI receptionist sounds simple until it has to actually run service.

Free white-glove onboarding for first 50 beta operators.

Bring your current menu, website, and ordering links. We will show the current grade, rebuild the ordering path, and track the lift.

🎯

Maestro

I can help compare AIR to the software stack you already pay for.

One Maestro. CFO-minded. Same brain for chat and voice.

Ask about operations, phones, menu, delivery, marketing, cutover, or growth. Maestro answers with the owner's margin and time in mind.
